UPDATE: SBA Elections

***Note: If this your first time to the blog, please read the email exchanges below to get the background information on our email exchange w/the current SBA:

SBA ELECTIONS UPDATE:

A candidate for President of the SBA, Neil Kelley, has been inspired by this student movement (and the efforts in previous years with the same goals) to finally institute the reform that students have been demanding.

After many of us met with Neil to ensure that he will not make false promises of "transparency" (as were made in last years elections, and evidently, never put to action), we feel confident in supporting his candidacy.

However, Neil wants his campaign to be shaped by all student voices, and doesn't just want to hear from the student mandate organizers. So, he encourages everyone to stop by and talk to him outside the 2nd floor lounge sometime this week, between 10am-1pm, or 2:15-5pm. Alternatively, if you cannot make it during those times, he would like to hear any input via email, at neilpatrick@gmail.com.

FYI, we have not endorsed, nor do we plan to endorse any other candidates. We feel that reform will only be possible if those who have maintained the status quo and the lack of accountability are no longer in a position to continue that trend. It is only appropriate to support someone who, like us, has fought against these practices, and is prepared to truly fix our student government.
